Part II of a 3-part series: “When in Rome”- An Introduction to Roman Mythology. The review of the similarities and differences between Greek and Roman mythologies will center on works of Ovid (The Metamorphoses) and Virgil (The Aeneid). Mark J. Schenker, Associate Dean of Yale College, will give a series of three lectures on the myths of ancient Greece and ancient Rome and on Dante’s Inferno, with a focus on the tension between the Ideal and the Monstrous.
