Wilton Reads: “State of Wonder” by Ann Patchett
Wednesday May 30, 2012 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
We encourage all community members to join us this spring as we come together to read, discuss and reflect upon State of Wonder, by author Ann Patchett, culminating in Ann’s appearance at the Wilton Library to discuss this work. This is Ann Patchett’s second talk at the library, and those of you fortunate enough to have attended her Wilton Reads discussion of her work, Run, in 2009 will want to be front and center to hear her discuss this latest work, a truly wondrous tale of morality and miracles, science and sacrifice set in the Amazonian jungle, that is both a gripping adventure and a profound look at the difficult choices we make in the name of discovery and love. Not only does she write sublimely, but she also speaks effortlessly, with intelligence, humor, and honesty. She enthralls her audiences as well as her readers – it is simply a joy to hear her speak. And she loves libraries! Q&A, book sales and signing following the talk. Reservations strongly recommended.
