Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence Exhibition/Reception: Leona and Richard Frank

July brings Leona and Richard Frank to the Weir Farm artist in residency program. As spousal artists, they enjoy supporting each other’s individual creative endeavors, but they also frequently collaborate on interpretations of natural environments. Their goal is to eventually produce a book displaying their personal visions of the same environments, depicted in their field of choice – painting and drawing for Leona and photography for Richard.
Weir Farm will be one of these collaborative efforts, interpreting their surroundings in their own personal way. In a recent collaboration, Richard’s photographs depicted sculptural rock formations, dramatically defined by strong sunlight, for example, while Leona focused on painting the bountiful and vibrant wildflowers in Outer Island, in the Thimble Islands. We look forward to viewing some of their works depicting their different points of view of Weir Farm.
