Hot & Cool: Jazz at the Brubeck Room—The Virginia Mayhew Group

For over 25 years saxophonist-composer-arranger Virginia Mayhew has been an active participant in the New York jazz scene working with renowned artists such as Earl ‘Fatha’ Hines, Frank Zappa, James Brown, Al Grey and many others. She has appeared as a leader in most of New York City’s top jazz venues (including the Brubeck Room in 2009), as well as performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Australia, the Caribbean and Southeast Asia.
Playing in the group is Virginia – tenor saxophone; Ed Cherry – guitar; Andy Watson – drums, Noah Bless – trombone, and Harvie S – bass (also in a return performance in the Brubeck Room). Reception following the concert. CDs available for purchase and signing. Suggested donation: $10.
