Sugar Matters: A Forum on Diabetes Prevention and Treatment

Wednesday, Nov. 14, 7 – 8:30 p.m.
A free forum on diabetes featuring a panel of health experts  will be presented by Wilton Library, Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association (RVNA), the Greens of Cannondale and the Wilton Family Y.  The panel of experts will include Dr. Nancy J. Rennert, the Chief of Diabetes and Endocrinology at Norwalk Hospital and Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine (Endocrinology) at Yale University School of Medicine; Barbara Nadolny, a registered nurse and certified diabetes educator and coordinator of the Diabetes Education program at Norwalk Hospital; and Cindy Kozak, registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator from the State Department of Health and Chronic Diseases. The moderator will be Theresa Santoro, CEO and president of the RVNA.  A pre-screening risk assessment form and additional experts will be available from 6:30 to 7, prior to the forum.  Participants will receive a free “Try the Y” pass to the Wilton Family Y and can register for a free fasting glucose screening being offered the following morning at the Wilton Y by RVNA, from 8 – 10 a.m.  (This does not replace the need for a full blood work up with your doctor.) Dietitian Sandra Novalla from the Greens at Cannondale will also be available to answer questions and review your diet. Registration recommended.
