Gone in 60 Seconds Book Club
Saturday, Jan. 12, 3 – 4 p.m.
Is it possible to write and perform a 60-second version of a great book? Find out as we re-tell our own high-octane versions of the best in children’s literature. Participants will pick the most important scenes, characters and lines and then speed-read through the finished product. Will we beat the buzzer? Expect fast talk, quick thinking and lots of laughter. What’s more, once we’ve learned how to edit, analyze, compromise and communicate, we’ll use technology to enhance our literary skills by creating an animated mini-movie trailer of one of our 60 second extravaganzas. The book this month is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. Grades 4-6, children under 12 must have a caregiver in the building. Sponsored by the Sherman Family Fund.
