Area Author Affair: Cathryn J. Prince – Death in the Baltic: The Sinking of the Wilhelm Gustloff
Monday, May 13, 6 – 7 p.m.
In Death in the Baltic, award-winning author Cathryn Prince reconstructs the story of unimaginable horror by drawing on original interviews with remaining survivors of the cruise liner and newly declassified records from the 1945 torpedoes on the escaping ship. Weaving the personal narratives into the broader history, she gives this overlooked WWII catastrophe its place in history. Cathryn J. Prince (Weston, CT) is the author of Burn the Town and Sack the Banks: Confederates Attack Vermont!, Shot from the Sky: American POWs in Switzerland and A Professor, a President, and a Meteor. She also is an adjunct professor of journalism at Quinnipiac University and writes for local print and online magazines. See the library’s website for more information about the book and the author. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Light refreshments are served at Area Author Affairs, held to celebrate our local authors. Registration encouraged.
