Author Talk: Elizabeth Benedict—What My Mother Gave Me

Friday, May 10, 7 – 8:30 p.m.
What is the most meaningful gift that your mother ever gave you? Just on time for Mother’s Day, Elizabeth Benedict, editor of What My Mother Gave Me – Thirty-One Women on the Gifts That Mattered Most will join us for a special book event.  In What My Mother Gave Me, women look at the relationships between mothers and daughters through a new lens: a daughter’s story of a gift from her mother that has touched her to the bone and served as a model, a metaphor, or a touchstone in her own life.  The contributors of these thirty-one original pieces – all written specifically for this book – include Pulitzer Prize winners, perennial bestselling novelists, and well-known NPR commentators.  Elizabeth Benedict is a graduate of Barnard College and the author of five novels, including the National Book Award finalist Slow Dancing. Bring your mother or your daughter to the talk and join us for a special reception afterwards. No charge. Books will be available for purchase and signing courtesy of Elm Street Books. Registration encouraged. See registration link for more details about the book and author.
