Coding with Khan for Teens: Program Filled

Saturday, July 26 , 1 – 4:30 p.m.
New to the world of computer science? Interested in learning the fundamentals of programming? If so, don’t miss this opportunity to join Bridgewater Associates, an investment management firm, and Wilton Library for an introduction to computer science and JavaScript and then kick-off a 10-week online learning program. Leading the first session are interns from some of the best computer science programs in the country — Amherst, CMU, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, and Washington University in St. Louis. There will be food, games, cool CS project demonstrations, and opportunities for students to meet mentors and start exploring.  Students can continue learning and coding with Khan Academy’s online program while at home or at the library. The library’s computer lab will be open from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Mondays beginning 8/4 and continue weekly through 10/6.  The Bridgewater mentors will be available through email and act as virtual tutors. For students entering grades 6-12.   Registration required and must be willing to commit to 10 weeks of online learning. No cost. Sponsored by Bridgewater Associates and Wilton Library.
