Ben Van Vechten Seminar: Literary Potpourri
Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25, 10:30–noon
Popular guest lecturer Ben Van Vechten returns to Wilton Library for another special 2-day seminar in the same vein as his March 2009 seminar. The title, ‘Literary Potpourri’, reflects his choice of material, which does not fit into any one category. The selections will be available at the front desk before the seminar begins. Advance registration is required.

Hands-On Computer Classes: Basic Word 2007
Thursday, September 24 , 12:30 – 2 p.m.
Learn to create and format a basic document in Word 2007 in this free class. Basic computer skills, including mouse proficiency, are required. Class limited to ten students–advance registration required. To ensure the best learning experience for all, students are asked to arrive on time; no one will be permitted to enter classroom 10 minutes after start of the class.

Family Game Night
Thursday, September 24, 6–7 pm
Families are invited to the library to play favorite board and card games in a fun, informal atmosphere. Board and card games will be available and include Clue, Monopoly Jr., Scrabble, Old Maid, Uno, and more. Light snacks will also be provided. A great way to spend time with the family! Open to children and adults of all ages, children must be accompanied by a caregiver. No registration. Sponsored by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund.

International Book Group: Literature of Other Lands
Thursday, September 24, 7–8:30 pm
This group reads for pleasure to learn about authors from other lands and their works as seen through the eyes of their countrymen. Guest speaker and library staffer discusses A Woman Unknown: Voices from a Spanish Life by Lucia Graves. Participants need not read the literature to enjoy the informal discussions of the countries and cultures. Refreshments and international desserts will be served. Advance registration suggested.
