Drop-in Summer Crafts

Monday, July 25, 10 am-8 pm
Children of all ages can stop by during regular library hours and make a craft to take home. August dates: Aug 1, 8 & 15. No registration, made possible by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund.

Teen Summer Reading Program

Monday, June 27
Read a book, record it on a personalized ‘passport,’ and be eligible to win weekly prizes and/or the grand prize! Come to the Teen Department Mondays-Fridays to sign up for a passport and begin reading. Program runs from June 27-August 7.

  • Week 1 (6/27-7/2) $10 to Starbucks;
  • Week 2 (7/4-7/9) $10 to Swizzles;
  • Week 3 (7/11-7/16) $10 to Steve’s Bagels;
  • Week 4 (7/18-7/23) $15 to iTunes store;
  • Week 5 (7/25-7/30) $15 to Wilton Pizza;
  • Week 6 (8/1-8/6) $15 to Bowtie Cinemas.

Grand Prize: Kindle eReader and gift card for a DODOcase. For students entering grades 7-12. Sponsored by the John and Patricia Curran Fund.

Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence Exhibition/Reception:

July brings Lenny Moskowitz to the Weir Farm artist-in-residency program. As a landscape artist, he states that he is “continually challenged by my desire for simplicity in my work…Patterns, movements and abstract shapes stand out and become a point of departure.” Co-sponsored by Weir Farm Art Center and Weir Farm National Historic Site and presented by Wilton Library. Registration suggested.

Good Reads, Great Kids

Monday, July 25, 6:15-7 pm
Kids in grades 2 and 3 are invited to join this new book club!! Children and their parents will have the opportunity to meet and discuss books as a group. For this session children are invited to bring a book that they have read recently to talk about in this group setting. In addition to personal selections, we will all discuss the book Goosed by Bill Wallace. Snacks will be provided and a craft will be made. Please note grade change to Grades 2 and 3. Parents and guardians must be present. Sponsored by the Sherman Family Fund.
