Teen Summer Reading Program

Monday, June 27
Read a book, record it on a personalized ‘passport,’ and be eligible to win weekly prizes and/or the grand prize! Come to the Teen Department Mondays-Fridays to sign up for a passport and begin reading. Program runs from June 27-August 7.

  • Week 1 (6/27-7/2) $10 to Starbucks;
  • Week 2 (7/4-7/9) $10 to Swizzles;
  • Week 3 (7/11-7/16) $10 to Steve’s Bagels;
  • Week 4 (7/18-7/23) $15 to iTunes store;
  • Week 5 (7/25-7/30) $15 to Wilton Pizza;
  • Week 6 (8/1-8/6) $15 to Bowtie Cinemas.

Yoga and Fruit Smoothies for Teens

Wednesday, August 3, 3-4:30 pm
Join instructor Janice Wilcox for a relaxing hour of yoga and then treat yourself to a fruit smoothie! For teens entering grades 7-12 and recent high school graduates. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat. Registration suggested. Sponsored by the John and Patricia Curran Teen Fund.

Dinosaur Club

Wednesday, August 3, 4-5:30 pm
This weekly club is seeking qualified students entering grades 4-6 to participate in a Science Competition at Yale University held annually in November. The club will explore dinosaurs, fossils, paleobiology, geology and more, through presentations, discussions and demonstrations. The program will include experiments, model building, field trips and hands-on creative activities. Registration required.
