Registration for the Launch of Wilton Up Close 2011 Teen Photography Project

Monday, August 15 through Tuesday, September 6.
Wilton Up Close 2011 is a Wilton Library project for students in grades 8-12. The students will work with Daryl Hawk, renowned photographer, who will teach them about photographing their surroundings. The heart of the program is to try and unplug, slow down and truly observe the everyday landscape. Students will also be asked to write reflections about their photographs and experience. The project will conclude with an exhibit in the main gallery of the Library in February 2012.

The dates are as follows:

  • 9/13-Wilton Town Center Kick Off Meeting/Photo/Writing, 4-6:30 pm, (Rain date 9/14);
  • 9/27-Weir Farm Photo/Writing, 4-6 pm, (Rain date 10/4);
  • 10/11-Millstone Farm Photo/Writing, 4- 6 pm, (Rain date 10/12);
  • 11/1-Photo Selection, 5-8 pm; 12/6 or 12/7 – Attend one of these writing workshops, 5-7 pm;
  • 1/10/12 or 1/11/12 – Attend one of these photo framing sessions, 5-7 pm.

LIMITED REGISTRATION (25 Students).

RETURN Art Exhibition

Tuesday, August 23, 10 am-8 pm
Students from Four Decades of Ed Mack Teachings Former Wilton students of Edward B. Mack pay tribute to his art inspiration with an exhibition which will run from 8/23/11 – 8/27/11. More than a fifteen artists from Mack’s four decades of teaching will be displaying their works. Exhibition open to the public with a private reception on Wednesday, August 24, 6-7:30 pm for former students and friends of Ed Mack and his participating artists. .
