The Literary Horse:
When Legends Come to Life Exhibition
Tuesday, August 30 through Thursday, September 29
Enjoy an exhibition of photographs by Vanessa Smith of horses and riders, paired with quotations from world-famous books, highlighting those published before 1923. Ms. Smith teaches equine photography and creative writing for horse lovers. The exhibition has been organized specifically to tour schools and libraries. Exhibit runs through Thursday, September 29.

Terrific Tales for Twos and Threes
Tuesday, September 6 through October 25, 10:15-10:45 am
Children ages 2 and 3 and their caregivers will sing songs, listen to stories, and enjoy playtime together while building literacy and social skills. No registration. This program runs for eight weeks until 10/25.

Parenting Book Series:
Dr. Susan Bauerfeld
Tuesday, September 20, 10:30-noon
In this new Parenting Book series will try to introduce parents to important books on parenting. Dr. Susan Bauerfeld, a licensed clinical psychologist and mother of three boys, will review several parenting books over the course of the year. The books will represent a smattering of what is out there. Sessions will consist of an overview of each book and the premise; general practical suggestion o how to apply the principles set forth in the book, and a Q&A period. Preparation for each session (e.g. reading the book) is not required but will most likely enhance the discussion and benefit of the session. The series will take place on the third Tuesday of alternating, months with the exception of January (9/20, 11/15, 1/10, 3/20, and 5/15). The book for September 20th is The Childhood Roots of Adult Happiness by Edward Hallowell. Registration strongly encouraged.

Look, Listen and Learn
Tuesday, September 6 through October 25, 11-11:30 am
For 3 and 4 years olds with parent/caregiver. By interacting with stories, singing songs and acting out finger plays and rhymes, children in this program gain pre-reading skills and learn how to participate in a group setting. This program runs for eight weeks until 10/25. No registration.

Literary Littles
Tuesday, September 6 through October 25, 2:15-3 pm
For independent listeners ages 4-6 years. Story time that provides children with experiences that enrich early literacy with stories, short films, songs and crafts. This program runs for eight weeks until 10/25. No registration.

Newcomers Open House
Tuesday, September 20, 9:30-11:30 am
The Newcomers Open House is open to new and prospective members of the Wilton Newcomers Club to see what the club and Wilton Library have to offer new residents. There is no need to register – just come to the Brubeck Room at the Library. Babysitting will be available in the upstairs Presidents’ Room, just off the elevator. Caregivers will be on hand, and toys will be available for play. However, please register if you plan on using this service. To register, phone 203-762-3950, Ext. 213. The Open House is co-sponsored by the Wilton Newcomers Club and Wilton Library.
