The Literary Horse:
When Legends Come to Life Exhibition
Tuesday, August 30 through Thursday, September 29
Enjoy an exhibition of photographs by Vanessa Smith of horses and riders, paired with quotations from world-famous books, highlighting those published before 1923. Ms. Smith teaches equine photography and creative writing for horse lovers. The exhibition has been organized specifically to tour schools and libraries. Exhibit runs through Thursday, September 29.

How to Support Your Student’s Study Skills and Keep Your Sanity

Also offered at 7 pm on September 27. Parents are invited to learn how they can help their middle or high school children be successful students. Parent Connection is pleased to have Michelle Sagalyn, founder and president of S4 – Successful Study Skills 4 Students – present a workshop for parents that will cover the following topics: goal setting; time management; note-taking; active reading; active listening; question generation; using graphic organizers; summarization and test preparation strategies. This program is co-sponsored by Wilton Youth Council, Parent Connection, Wilton Library and United Way of Coastal Fairfield County. Parent Connection is a member organization of Wilton Youth Council. Terrific Tales for Twos and Threes

Children ages 2 and 3 and their caregivers will sing songs, listen to stories, and enjoy playtime together while building literacy and social skills. No registration. This program runs for eight weeks until 10/25.

Look, Listen and Learn
Tuesday, September 6 through October 25, 11-11:30 am
For 3 and 4 years olds with parent/caregiver. By interacting with stories, singing songs and acting out finger plays and rhymes, children in this program gain pre-reading skills and learn how to participate in a group setting. This program runs for eight weeks until 10/25. No registration.

Senior Center Book Discussion:
Selected Poems by Amy Clampitt
Tuesday, September 27, 11-noon
Judson Scruton will lead a discussion of Selected Poems by Amy Clampitt. Amy Clampitt published her first book of poetry, The Kingfisher, at the age of sixty-three. Four major collections were produced by her over the next eleven years. This book brings together poems from all five volumes. Her poetry encompasses everything from the experiences of modern life to the movement of wildflowers. Group meets 4th Tuesday of each month through May (except December).
