Twice-weekly classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages continues on Mondays and Wednesdays until December 21 at the Wilton Library by Westport Continuing Education. Testing and registration required.

Lego Club
Wednesday, November 2, 9, 16 & 30, 4-5 pm
Kids in grades 3 and up are invited to join this weekly Lego® Club. Each session will be based on a new theme such as castles, vehicles, towers and more. Children will learn about the theme through stories and non-fiction books and then create a Lego masterpiece from the library’s Lego collection. A great time for all! There are 20 spots available for this program on a first come first serve basis. Tickets will be passed out at the Children’s reference desk starting at 3:45 pm the day of the program each week. This program runs for 4 sessions in November; no session 11/23. Sponsored by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund.

Author Talk: ATLANTIC-Simon Winchester

Join Simon Winchester, New York Times bestselling author of Krakatoa and The Professor and the Madman, for a discussion of his latest work Atlantic: Great Sea Battles, Heroic Discoveries, Titanic Storms, and a Vast Ocean of a Million Stories. Winchester blends history and anecdote, geography and reminiscence, science and exposition, to tell the breathtaking saga of the magnificent Atlantic Ocean. Explorers, scientists, warriors and fishermen have lived off of and been captivated by this vast expanse of water. Winchester brings it all to vivid life. He studied geology at Oxford and has written for Conde Nast Traveler, Smithsonian, and National Geographic. His books have been New York Times bestsellers and appeared on numerous best and notable lists. Mr. Winchester was made Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by HM The Queen in 2006.
