Books for Babies

We will sing and play and enjoy gentle stories geared for babies under 12 months old. This is an excellent forum to meet other new parents in the area. Bring dad too! 10-week program. No registration. Caregivers must be present.


Wonderful Ones and Twos with Caregivers
Wednesday, January 18 through Wednesday, March 21, 11-11:30 am
This program is a sharing time for 1 and 2 year olds and their caregivers. The emphasis is on books, with some songs and puzzles. No registration. 10-week program.

Lego Club
Wednesday, January 4, 11, 18 & 25, 4-5 pm
Kids in grades 3 and up are invited to join this weekly Lego® Club. Each session will be based on a new theme such as castles, vehicles, towers and more. Children will learn about the theme through stories and non-fiction books and then create a Lego masterpiece from the library’s Lego collection. A great time for all! There are 20 spots available for this program on a first come first serve basis. Tickets will be passed out at the Children’s reference desk starting at 3:45 pm the day of the program each week. This program runs for 4 weeks in January. Sponsored by the Coyle Family Young Readers.

Mythology Club for Kids
Wednesday, January 25, 6:30-7:30 pm
Each month children in grades 3-5 will read a book on a mythological theme and discuss it. Snacks will be provided and an activity or craft will be made. Please note Mythology Club has moved to Wednesdays. The book for the month of January is Outlaw: The Legend of Robin Hood by Tony Lee. Caregivers must remain in the building for children under 12. Busting the Cholesterol Myth-Does Cholesterol Cause Heart Disease?
Wednesday, January 25, 7-8:30 pm
In a second of a series of talks at Wilton Library, Dr. Robert Zembroski (or Dr. ‘Z’, as he is also known), talks about cholesterol and heart disease. Topics include: Cholesterol is not the cause of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD); the damaging effects of cholesterol-lowering drugs; the diet proven to reverse heart disease; certain nutrients that prevent CAD; biomarkers to look for to accurately assess risk for CAD. Dr. Robert Zembroski, is director of the Darien Center for Integrative Medicine. A graduate of the University of Connecticut and the New York Chiropractic College, Dr. Z is a chiropractic neurologist certified by the American Chiropractic Neurology Board.
