ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

Wednesday, February 1 through Wednesday, April 25, 9:30-11:30 am
Twice-weekly classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages begin Monday, January 30 and continue on Mondays and Wednesdays until April 25th at the Wilton Library given by Westport Continuing Education. Testing and registration required (Placement testing at Wilton Library, Wednesday, January 18, from 9:30-11:30 am).

Literary Littles

Monday, April 2 through May 21, 2:15-3 pm
For independent listeners ages 4-6 years. Story time that provides children with experiences that enrich early literacy with stories, short films, songs and crafts. No registration. Program runs for 8 weeks.

Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence

Exhibition/Reception: Pam Rogers
Monday, April 23, 6-7:30 pm
April brings Pam Rogers to the Weir Farm artist in residency program. Pam Rogers’s art examines the conceptual evolution of relationships. This on-going exploration is realized in two-dimensional works on paper and three-dimensional installation work using plant materials, handmade paper, and pigments from soil, minerals and plants. Born in Boulder, Colorado, Pam earned her MFA in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design (GA) and a BA in Art History from Wellesley College (MA), where she served as the Curator of Visual Resources. Her work is influenced by advanced studies in Anthropology, Art History and Botanical Illustration. Co-sponsored by Weir Farm Art Center and Weir Farm National Historic Site and presented by Wilton Library. Registration suggested.

Good Reads, Great Kids

Monday, April 23, 6:15-7 pm
Children in grades 2 and 3 and their parents will have the opportunity to meet and discuss books as a group. In celebration of National Poetry Month we will all discuss the book Mirror Mirror by Marilyn Singer. Snacks will be provided and a craft will be made. Parents and guardians must be present. Sponsored by the Sherman Family Fund. Registration required.
