Poetry in Motion
Rewind, Pause, Fast Forward << ll >>
Saturday, Sept. 1 through Monday, Oct. 15
Poetry in Motion is an annual program for teens in grades 6 – 12. This year’s theme is REWIND, PAUSE, FAST FORWARD. Students are invited to submit original poems (serious or humorous; short or long) about the past, present and/or future. Approximately 35 poems will be selected for a two-performance event in March 2013 at the library. Poems will be paired with art, music and/or dance for the live performances, as well as published in a commemorative book. Submit poems to firstname.lastname@example.org by October 15, 2012. Call Susan Lauricella at 203-762-3950 x.243 for information.
First Saturday Books for Babies
Saturday, Sept. 1, 9:30 – 10 a.m.
Bring your wonderful baby to this infant friendly program at the Wilton Library! We will sing and play and enjoy gentle stories geared for babies under 12 months old on the first Saturday of each month before the library opens. This is an excellent forum to meet other new parents in the area. Bring dad too! Registration suggested.
OverDrive Volunteers ‘Office Hours’
Saturday, Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, 10 am – noon.
People who want to get started with downloading e-books and audiobooks from the library to their personal devices now have a little help with Wilton Library’s Overdrive Volunteers. Office hours are Tuesdays in September, from 4 – 6 p.m. Patrons are asked to bring their personal devices (smartphones, Kindles, Nooks, etc.) and their Wilton Library card to receive personal hands-on attention. Additional hours: Saturdays in September, 10 a.m. – noon.
