Events:

Students in grades 5-6 interested in learning the basics of coding, can join us for six sessions (11/23, 12/7, 12/14, 1/11/15, 1/25/15 & 2/1/15). Two high school computer science students will work with the group and guide them through various online coding programs. Limited space. Supported by the Amadeo Family Fund.

Interested in learning how to use the Cricut Explore, an electronic cutting machine and software for cards, scrapbooks and more? For ages 13-113. Must have a valid CT library card and signed Innovation Station Agreement form. Please bring the completed form to the workshop. Space limited to 3 students.  Registration required.

Twice-weekly classes in English as a Second Language begin on Wednesday, Jan. 28 and continue on Mondays and Wednesdays until Wednesday, April 29 at Wilton Library given by Westport Continuing Education. (There will be no classes on Feb. 16, 18, 23, April 13 and 15) Testing and registration required (testing date is Wednesday, Jan. 21, 9:30 – 11 a.m. at Wilton Library).

Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to Wilton Library’s monthly Teen Advisory Board (TAB) meeting. TAB is a group of teens who work with the library by helping select materials for the teen collection, planning teen events, and more. Your help allows us to make the library better for you and your friends. Newcomers always welcome! If this is your first time coming to TAB, please fill out an application (can be accessed online) and bring it with you. Applications will also be available at the meeting. Wilton Library’s Innovation Day will showcase the work of all kinds and ages of makers—anyone who is embracing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art or Math) or the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) movement and wants to share their accomplishments with an appreciative audience.  Presentations, workshops, and exhibitions– we’re looking for them all!  We particularly encourage those who demonstrate the process of making things or have interactive exhibits. There will be no selling of merchandise or services, but exhibitors are free to distribute information or accept orders for their products or services.  Apply today!
