Events:

Do you have a box of old home videos? Wish you could still watch some of those funny or touching family moments? If so, come learn how to convert them to DVDs. For 7th graders through adults and 6th grade students accompanied by adults who are willing to learn too! Must have a valid CT Library card and signed Innovation Station Agreement form. Please bring the completed form to the workshop. Space limited to 1 student per session. Registration required. This is for home videos only and conversion time is one-to-one.

We have a new embroidery machine -- the Janome Memory Craft 500E! If you've already learned how to embroider or monogram with our Singer Machine, then this is the session for you. We'll go over the features and capabilities of the Janome, so you can keep creating personalized items. Registration required. Class size limited. For 7th graders to adults and 6th graders accompanied by adults who are willing to learn too. Must have a valid CT library card and signed Innovation Station Agreement Form. Please bring the completed form to the workshop.

Summer is coming to an end and it's almost time to go back to school. Harry Potter is always happy to leave the Dursleys and go back to Hogwarts and this year, you can go, too! Wilton Library is hosting an all-day fundraiser for children in grades 3-5. Children will be sorted into the four houses and attend a variety of magical classes and fun activities. They will learn how to disguise themselves with magic from the Weasley Brothers' joke business, have their fortunes told by Professor Trelawney, learn about magical creatures, and much more. Lunch donated by Wilton's own Pinocchio Pizza. Advance register required in person; $55.00 per child. Accommodations will be made for children going to Meet the Teacher sessions—kids can come back and join the festivities.

Create different crafts using Perler beads. Make coasters, key chains, a three dimensional camera-shaped box as well as other design. Use your imagination and make a new craft.  For kids ages 10-12. Registration required.

Kids ages 8 and up are invited to join Wilton Library’s Minecraft Computer Club. A server for Fairfield County has been set up with a virtual world where the Minecraft community in Wilton can meet and the club welcomes the enthusiasts. Please note: Minecraft is a subscription-based, online game. Players must bring their own laptop and create their own account. Handheld devices are not recommended because they run a Minecraft app that does not work with the same server. To be added to the Fairfield County server you must visit the Children’s Desk with a valid library card to be registered. Caretakers must sign in their child with staff member. If the child is not present and signed in by 10:10, the place may be given to a waitlisted child. Caretakers must remain in the building. Registration required; no fee.
