Holiday Book Sale
Saturday, Dec. 1 through Sunday, Dec. 23 (Mondays through Thursdays, 10 – 8; Fridays 10 – 6; Saturdays, 10 – 5, Sundays 1- 5).
The library’s holiday book sale in the gallery is a seasonal delight. Bargains can be found – most of the items are new or like-new condition, making a terrific opportunity for holiday gift-giving. Items include books, unopened CDs and DVDs, children’s books and a huge assortment of art books. As items are sold, new ones appear daily, thanks to the hard-working book sale volunteers, who always seem to have an un-ending supply of tantalizing offerings. All sales support the library. Open during regular library hours through Dec. 23
Middlemarch: Film Screening and Discussion with Bill Ziegler—Part 2
Thursday, Dec. 13, 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Part 2 of the film version of Middlemarch will be shown in the Brubeck Room with a brief Q&A following the film. This session follows a discussion of the book led by Bill Ziegler on Dec. 6. Part 3 of the film will be viewed on Friday, Dec. 14. Viewers are invited to bring brown bag lunches to eat during or after the film and the library will provide coffee, tea, water and chips. Please note that copies of the book will be available in the Book Club book area for advance reading. Registration highly recommended.
Mother Goose Time
Thursday, Dec. 6, 13 & 20 , 1:30 – 2 p.m.
Mother Goose Time is a themed story time for children ages 1-4. Children will sing songs, listen to stories, move to music, and learn nursery rhymes. Felt boards, puppets, instruments, and props will be used.
An Italian Christmas
Thursday, Dec. 13 , 6 – 7 p.m.
Come to an Italian Christmas program- Buon Natale! There will be activities, games, crafts, stories and Italian goodies to eat. Children will learn about La Befana – The Christmas Witch as well as other Italian Christmas customs and traditions. Refreshments may include- pasta, fruit, pastries, cookies, Panettone, and antipasto. Please note – some food products may contain nuts. Children ages 4 and up with a caregiver. Registration required.
