Terrific Tales for Twos and Threes

Join Wilton Library for 2 and 3-year old story time. Children and their caregivers will sing songs, listen to stories, and enjoy playtime together while building literacy and social skills. The program runs 8 weeks.
Parenting Book Series: Dr. Susan Bauerfeld
Tuesday, Jan. 8, 10:30 a.m. – noon.
Dr. Susan Bauerfeld, a licensed clinical psychologist, ADHD Coach and mother of three boys, reviews several parenting books over the course of the year chosen for their soundness and relevance to the community. The book for January is Screamfree Parenting: The Revolutionary Approach to Raising Your Kids by Keeping Your Cool by Hal Edward Runkel. The remaining date is March 12. No charge. Co-sponsored by Wilton Youth Council, Parent Connection, Wilton Library and United Way of Coastal Fairfield County. Registration strongly encouraged.
Look, Listen and Learn

For 3 and 4 years-olds with a caregiver. By interacting with stories, singing songs and acting out finger plays and rhymes, children in this program gain pre-reading skills and learn how to participate in a group setting. The program repeats for 8 weeks.
Tuesday, Jan. 8 through Feb 26, 2:15 – 3 pm.
For independent listeners ages 4-6 years-old. This is a story time that provides children with experiences that enrich early literacy. Children will hear stories, watch short films, sing songs, and do a craft. This program repeats for 8 sessions.
Breast Cancer Survivors’ Support Group
Tuesday, Jan. 8, 6 – 8 p.m.
A monthly support group for post-treatment cancer survivors will be held at Wilton Library. The Breast Cancer Survival Center, a Fairfield county non-profit, has been holding support groups, retreats and candle lightings for the past 12 years. LWV/WLA Akhil Amar—America’s Unwritten Constitution

The Wilton League of Women Voters and Wilton Library are proud to welcome Akhil Reed Amar, Professor of Law and Political Science at Yale. Professor Amar will be discussing his latest book, America’s Unwritten Constitution: The Precedents and Principles We Live By which was recently listed by the Washington Post as one of the 50 most notable nonfiction books of 2012. Books will be available for purchase and signing following the talk and Professor Amar will be donating a number of books. Co-sponsored by the Wilton League of Women Voters and Wilton Library.
