The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation’s first and largest classroom driver safety course designed especially for drivers age 50 and older. This single session, four hour course covers the normal changes in vision, hearing and reaction time associated with ageing and provides practical techniques on how to adjust to these changes, along with learning to operate vehicles more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. There are no written or driving tests – classroom only. NY residents: please contact your insurance carrier to confirm they will accept a Connecticut State class certificate. Registration required. Program cost by cash or check only: $15 for AARP members; $20 for non-members.

This program is a sharing time for 1 and 2 year-olds and their caregivers. The emphasis is on books, with some songs and toy time. No registration, no program fee.
Wilton Library’s executive director Elaine Tai-Lauria receives a generous donation of $1,200 from Mitch Ancona, of Ancona’s Wines & Liquors of Wilton and Ridgefield, who recently hosted the First Annual Branchville Charity Bocce Tournament. Holding the trophy is Michael Crystal (husband of Janet Crystal, marketing communications manager for the library). He headed up the first place team, Wilton Library Bocce Brawlers, which included Jon Waxberg (husband of Anita Waxberg, processing and circulation assistant for the library), Justin Bartholomew and Jeff Hancock (both employees of Ancona’s). There were eight nonprofit teams that competed in the round-robin tournament.
