Minecraft is an online computer game unlike any other. It is a creative game. Worlds made out of individual blocks are generated. In these unique worlds players can build anything, mine anything, create anything, and interact with other players. The only limit is your imagination. A server for the Wilton Library has been set up with a virtual world where the Minecraft community in Wilton can meet. Minecraft enthusiasts are welcome to join the Minecraft Computer Club on Saturday mornings between 10- noon to discuss and play everything Minecraft in the Children’s Library. Ages 8 and up. Registration required.
Please note: Minecraft is a subscription-based, online game. Players must bring their own laptop and create their own account.
Tales to Tails
Saturday, March 23, 11 a.m. – noon.
ROAR’s (Ridgefield Operation Animal Rescue) Therapy Dog Program brings therapy dogs to the library for children to read to them. The use of trained therapy dogs in reading programs can result in children who feel comfortable reading out loud, read more often, attempt more difficult books, and actually look forward to reading. As they improve their literacy skills, they’re not just learning how to read, they’re learning to love to read! Children must read independently to participate in this program. Registration is required.
