Events:

January brings Benisse Lester to the Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence program. Ms. Lester’s paintings will depict the grounds and interior of Weir Farm celebrating and honoring the beauty and heritage of the farm and J. Alden Weir. The work will be primarily in plein air and directly from the subject material incorporating still life and figures. Co-sponsored by Weir Farm Art Center and Weir Farm National Historic Site and presented by Wilton Library. No charge. Registration suggested.

Join Wilton Library for 2 and 3-year old story time. Children and their caregivers will sing songs, listen to stories, and enjoy playtime together while building literacy and social skills. No registration, no fee. This program runs for 10 weeks.

For 3 and 4 year-olds with caregivers. By interacting with stories, singing songs and acting out finger plays and rhymes, children in this program gain pre-reading skills and learn how to participate in a group setting. No registration, no fee. This program runs for 10 weeks.

Richard Duffee will lead a discussion of The Spirit Level by Richard Wilkinson & Kate Pickett. This complex book provides groundbreaking research and stunning conclusions about this country income gap between the richest and poorest. This group meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month through May. Call the Senior Center for details and to register at (203) 834-6240. Comstock Community Center, 180 School Road, Wilton.

Twice-weekly classes in English as a Second Language begin on Wednesday, Jan. 28 and continue on Mondays and Wednesdays until Wednesday, April 29 at Wilton Library given by Westport Continuing Education. (There will be no classes on Feb. 16, 18, 23, April 13 and 15) Testing and registration required (testing date is Wednesday, Jan. 21, 9:30 – 11 a.m. at Wilton Library).
