Welcome to Wilton Library
Local artists Shannon Cruickshank, Elizabeth Emerson, Trish Nelson, Karen Siegel and Margaret Vickers provide a cornucopia of color that awakens the senses during the cold winter month. A majority of the works will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the library. Reception open to the public. Exhibition runs through Saturday, February 27.
Kids ages 8 and up are invited to join Wilton Library’s Minecraft Computer Club. A server for Fairfield County has been set up with a virtual world where the Minecraft community in Wilton can meet and the club welcomes the enthusiasts. Please note: Minecraft is a subscription-based, online game. Players must bring their own laptop and create their own account. Handheld devices are not recommended because they run a Minecraft app that does not work with the same server. To be added to the Fairfield County server you must visit the Children’s Desk with a valid library card to be registered. Caretakers must sign in their child with staff member. If the child is not present and signed in by 10:10, the place may be given to a waitlisted child. Caretakers must remain in the building. Registration required; no fee.
Come and take your child to Wilton Library! On this National Day celebrating Libraries and Families, drop by and enjoy storytimes, a short film and a bookmark making craft! No registration required.
Members of the Fairfield County Chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild of America will be stitching in public all day in the Gallery of Wilton Library. They will have many hand-embroidered items on display so drop by, take a look, say hello and get inspired. Be sure to browse the display of books on embroidery that can be checked out from the library.
In honor of 'Take Your Child to the Library Day' families can come to the Wilton Library and enjoy a fun filled hour of Hula-Hooping with Judi Ann Jones! A special hula hoop will be raffled off to a lucky family at the end of the program. Registration required.
The library now has a new look for its Wilton Library cards. The cards reflect the original art found in many of the library’s murals that make it such a special place to visit. The Children’s Library murals and entrance were created by Ed MacEwen and the teen mural was created by library staffer Tom Swick with a group of teens. People can choose from six different images for a bit of personalization. There is no charge for new accounts; replacement cards are $1.00. See Choices
Please note that Wilton Library has replaced its phone system and we now have new direct telephone numbers.
