Cookbook author and Wilton resident, Lisa Huff, will be discussing her life experiences and how she started in cooking, recipe development, and food photography. She'll also be discussing how her cookbook, Kid Chef Bakes, came about. Kid Chef Bakes is a collection of 75+ recipes and contains numerous baking tutorials and tips for all ages. Lisa Huff is a freelance recipe developer, food photographer, and food writer as well as the owner of the popular website and blog, Snappy Gourmet. Her recipes have won many awards over the years and she has worked with many well-known food brands, PR companies, and publications. Q&A will follow the talk as will book signing. Food samples and cookie decorating will also be available. Grade K through adults. Registration recommended. Book sales provided by Elm Street Books of New Canaan. If you're a girl in grades 6-12 and want to learn to create mobile apps, games or websites, join Girls Who Code. No experience necessary – just enthusiasm and willingness to try new things! We're part of a national club that offers project-based activities in a fun and creative environment. This is an on-going program where each week builds on skills learned in previous weeks.

We'll meet twice a month on Sundays from October 1, 2017 - June 3, 2018. Sessions are from 1 - 3 p.m. on these dates: October 1 & 15, November 5 & 19, December 3 & 17, January 7 & 21, February 4 & 11, March 4 & 18, April 1 & 15, May 6 & 13 and June 3.  Registration required. In this one-on-one session, let us introduce you to our electronic embroidery machine and embroider or monogram a chef’s apron for the season. $10 fee payable upon arrival. For 7th graders to adults and 6th graders accompanied by adults who are willing to learn too. Must have a valid CT library card and signed Innovation Station Agreement Form. Wilton Chamber of Commerce Winter Carnival

Sunday, Jan. 28, 12 – 4 p.m.

While the Wilton Chamber of Commerce Winter Carnival is taking place in Wilton Center, people will be able to visit the library for some of the fun.  Everyone is invited to decorate snowflakes, relax and color at a large table, experience Virtual Reality, take the ultimate selfie in front of a green screen in some faraway place, or just warm up by the fireplace. Come on in!

Wilton Library is seeking a service-oriented, year-round, part-time, substitute adult reference librarian.  Candidates must hold a Master of Library Science degree; MLS students nearing graduation will be considered.
