Welcome to Wilton Library

Events:

The Library's holiday Book Sale in the gallery is a seasonal delight where bargains can be found - featuring a large array of PRISTINE books, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks suitable for gift-giving to all ages. As items are sold, new ones appear daily. All sales support the library. Sale opens at noon on November 30 and continues during regular library hours through January 2, 2017. Library closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

In this one-on-one session, we'll show you how to embellish napkins or dish towels with decorative stitches using our embroidery machine. $4 fee for a set of two napkins or towels, payable upon arrival. For 7th graders through adults and 6th grade students accompanied by adults who are willing to learn too.  Must have a valid CT library card and signed Innovation Station Agreement Form. Please bring the completed form to the workshop. For a follow-up training session, please email innovation@wiltonlibrary.org.

Come to the library for infant through 4-year-old story time. Children and their caregivers will sing songs, listen to stories, and enjoy playtime together while building literacy and social skills. No registration, no fee.

Join our book group dedicated to 'food literature!' This month's book will be Dinner with Edward by Isabel Vincent. Pamela Lillis, a nutritional health coach, avid reader, and lover of food lit, will moderate our discussion.
No charge.  Registration recommended.

Wilton Library is joining Computer Science Education Week, a national movement to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

One-hour “lessons” in coding will be given throughout the afternoon for adults and children 6 years and up at the following intervals: 1 – 2 p.m., 2:30 – 3:30 p.m., 4 – 5 p.m. and 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Participants can bring their own devices and sit in on any of the sessions.  A short introduction to the online class will be given at the start of each hour. Attendees can participate at their own speed on their own devices, or use one of the computers set up by the library expressly for this purpose.  Registration is required and 20 computers will be available at each session (first come, first served on registration list)  Computer Science Education Week, Dec. 5 – 11, 2016 is sponsored by Code.org, a non-profit dedicated to growing computer programming education.  Join us for an hour of fun as we peek behind the coding curtain together! We encourage kids and parents, friends, or anyone with a “How’d they do that?” curiosity.
