More than 50 Wilton artists display their diverse styles, media, and subjects in the second month of the annual Summer Show. Exhibit runs through Friday, August 30th. A portion of the proceeds benefits the library.

Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence Exhibition/Reception — Martha Burgess

Monday, Aug. 26, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
August brings Martha Burgess to the Weir Farm artist in residency program. Martha creates installation, sculpture, photographs and computer based media. Her work is sometimes considered a reflection upon the process of observing, deciphering and subverting representations and meanings in a shifting, fluid culture. See the registration link for more information. Co-sponsored by Weir Farm Art Center and Weir Farm National Historic Site and presented by Wilton Library.  Registration suggested.

Kate Macauley: World Wildlife Fund Volunteer Experience

Monday, Aug. 26, 7 – 8:30 p.m.
Kate Macauley will be speaking about her recent 3-month experience in Madagascar with the WWF, a leading international conservation organization. Living outside of Fandriana, Madagascar, in the central eastern part of the country, Kate worked on combating deforestation in rural villages near the rainforest corridor. Kate graduated from Wilton High School in 2007 and from Yale University in 2011 with degrees in economics and environmental engineering.  Registration suggested.
