ESL (English as a Second Language)

Monday, Sept. 30 through Wednesday, Dec. 18 , 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Twice-weekly classes in English as a Second Language will begin on Monday, September 30 and will continue on Mondays and Wednesdays until December 18 at Wilton Library given by Westport Continuing Education. (Note: no class Oct. 14 or Nov. 27) Testing and registration required.

Books for Babies

Wednesday, Sept. 11 through Wednesday, Nov. 13, 10:15 – 10:45 a.m.

Bring your wonderful baby to this infant friendly program at the Wilton Library. We will sing and play and enjoy gentle stories geared for babies under 12 months old.  This is an excellent forum to meet other new parents in the area. This program runs for 10 weeks.  Caregivers must be present.

Wonderful Ones and Twos

Wednesday, Sept. 11 through Wednesday, Nov. 13, 11 – 11:30 a.m.
This program is a sharing time for 1 and 2 year-olds and their caregivers. The emphasis is on books, with some songs and toy time. This program runs for 10 weeks.

Pumpkin Decorating–PROGRAM FULL

Wednesday, Oct. 30, 4 – 5 p.m.
Children ages 3-10 are invited to decorate a pumpkin for Halloween.  Supplies such as paint, stickers, and decals will be provided as well as a small pumpkin.  Kids may even win ribbons in categories such as most creative, silliest, and scariest!  Space is limited and registration is required. **Please sign up children INDIVIDUALLY to ensure they receive a pumpkin.  Sponsored by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund.

Scare Off! (A Story Scare-a-Thon)

Wednesday, Oct. 30, 4 – 5 p.m.
What could be more fun on a dark October day than to listen to scary stories? Staff members Lesley Keogh and Michael Robin will tell their favorite tales of horror to kids, Grades 3 and up. Do you DARE to attend?  Registration required, parents and guardians must stay in the building.

Hair-Raising Halloween Costume Contest

Wednesday, Oct. 30, 4 – 5 p.m.
It’s a Halloween Costume Contest at Wilton Library! Come to the library and wear your costume! Will you be the scariest? Or the frilliest? Or the funniest? Everyone gets a special certificate for participating. All ages welcome. Children under 8 must be accompanied by caregivers. Sponsored by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund.
