Wednesday, Jan. 29 through Wednesday, April 28, 9:30 – 11 a.m.
Twice-weekly classes in English as a Second Language will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 29 and will continue on Mondays and Wednesdays until April 28 at Wilton Library given by Westport Continuing Education. (There will be no class the weeks of Feb. 17-21 and April 14-18) Testing and registration required.

Miniatures a la Mode

Wednesday, March 26, 4 – 5 p.m. 
Calling all kids who are mad about miniatures! Come to Wilton Library and learn how to make some high end dollhouse furniture. Staff member Lesley Keogh will show you how to create beds, tables and sofas to help furnish the dollhouse of your dreams. Grades 2 and up. No charge. Registration required. Five Building Blocks of Growth for Your Small Business: “Tools to Improve Your Business: Lower Your Costs and Increase your Customers’ Satisfaction”

Wednesday, March 26, 6 – 8 p.m. 
This final session will cover cost reduction. Drawing from the discipline of Lean and Six Sigma, there are a number of simple cost-reduction methods which are appropriate for small businesses.

Speakers:  John Harmon and Andy Jawlik.  Harmon is Managing Director of Adulant Consulting Services which advises small and medium-size businesses on strategies for growth and operating excellence.  He also serves as a SCORE counselor. Jawlik is Managing Director of Jawlik and Associates, LLC which provides consulting and training in process and quality improvement. He is a Lean Six Sigma black belt and he draws on experience from IBM as a process executive. He is currently writing a book, The Most Confusing Statistical Concepts in Lean Six Sigma. He is also a SCORE business counselor.  Check-in begins at 5:30pm. Co-sponsored by Fairfield County SCORE, Wilton Library and the Wilton Chamber of Commerce.
