Critter Encounter

Wednesday, April 16, 2 – 3 p.m.
Come to a fun and educational program with Earthplace’s Critter Encounter!  A naturalist from Earthplace will be bringing a reptile, bird, amphibian and mammal to visit the Wilton Library. Children will learn all sorts of interesting facts about our friends in Nature.  Registration required, grades K and up.  Children under 8 must stay with caregivers; 8 to 12 year olds must have caregivers remain in the building.  Sponsored by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund.

An Apple a Day

Wednesday, April 16, 2 – 3:30 p.m.
Do you have an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch or Mac Laptop? You can use your Apple device to access eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies, and music for free through the library. Bring your Apple device for a demonstration and hands-on training of our free downloadables and streaming media. You will learn about our downloadable eBooks and audiobooks (OverDrive and OneClick), downloadable magazines (Zinio), streaming movies (IndieFlix), and streaming classical and jazz music (Naxos), all available 24/7. There is something for everyone and hours of enjoyment for patrons with Wilton Library cards. Registration suggested.

Lego® Club

Wednesday, April 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30, 4 – 5 p.m.
Kids in grades K and up are invited to join this weekly Lego® Club.  Each session will be based on a new theme such as castles, vehicles, towers and more.  Children will learn about the theme through stories and non-fiction books and then create a Lego® masterpiece from the library’s Lego® collection.  There are 20 spots available for this program on a first come, first served basis each week.  Tickets will be passed out at the Children’s reference desk starting at 3:45 p.m. the day of the program.  Sponsored by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund.

Grab Bag Book Club

Wednesday, April 16, 4 – 4:45 p.m.
Come and discuss a brand new best selling children’s book! The book for The book for April will be Ophelia and the Marvelous Boy By Karen Foxlee. This luminous retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s story “The Snow Queen” will appeal to lovers of fantasy. Healthy snacks will be provided as well as a book-related activity.  Registration required.  Grades 3 and up.  Parents and guardians must be in the building. Sponsored by the Steve and Alison Sherman Family Fund.
