October brings Liz Leggett to the Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence program. Liz's paintings utilize the landscape and natural world as a foundation and departure point for her artistic exploration of the space between abstraction and representation where forms and images are suggested but left open for a multitude of interpretations and meanings. Her technical practice is open to material accidents, the paint encouraged to fall where it may, allowing spontaneous forms to take shape. To Liz, this artistic process emulates nature's power and omnipresence and the fine balance of human existence within the natural world. See registration link for details. Co-sponsored by Weir Farm Art Center and Weir Farm National Historic Site and presented by Wilton Library. No charge. Registration suggested. Register online or call 203-762-6334.
Join the library for 2 and 3-year-old story time. Children and their caregivers will sing songs, listen to stories, and enjoy playtime together while building literacy and social skills. No registration, no fee.
