Wilton Library Summer Reading Program Registration Week
Tuesday, June 17 through Friday, June 20
Kids can register all summer long for the summer reading program. They will receive prizes for every 10 books or 500 pages they read. The last day for logging summer reading to receive regular prizes is Saturday, Aug. 23. Last day to reach the goal of 60 books/3000 pages and be included in the Awards Ceremony is Friday, Aug. 15. The theme for the summer reading program is Mythical, Magical Summer Reading.

Teen Summer Reading
Friday, June 20 through Friday, August 15th
The Teen Summer Reading Program is underway now, and ends on Friday August 15th. Weekly, teens entering grades 6-12 can access EVANCED, the online program to record the number of pages read. There will be a weekly drawing for $10 gift certificates. The end-of-summer grand prize will be a $100 AmEx Gift Card. For more details, stop by Teen Services or call 203-762-3950, ext. 243.

Summer Poetry Series with Joanne Ecke

Joanna Ecke leads this 4-part Spring Poetry Series exploring Robert Frost’s poetry. Poetry packets will be available at the front desk before the seminar begins. No charge for program. Advance registration required.
Author Talk: Lisa See – China Dolls

The New York Times bestselling author of Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, Lisa See, will be visiting Wilton Library to introduce her latest novel, China Dolls. China Dolls is set in the ‘Chop Suey Circuit’ of San Francisco right before World War II and follows three girls from very different backgrounds who find themselves competing at the same audition for showgirl roles at San Francisco’s exclusive ‘Oriental’ nightclub, the Forbidden City. China Dolls is Lisa See’s ninth book, including Peony in Love and Shanghai Girls, for which she has received international acclaim for her great skill at rendering the intricate relationships of women and the complex meeting of history and fate.
