Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence Exhibition/Reception: Anneliese Vobis
Monday, June 23, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
June brings Anneleise Vobis to the Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence program. Anneleise co-founded the Science Species Lab, an institute whose proficiencies range from the microscopic to the transnational. They construct synthetic landscapes that investigate this unique period of American culture and global consumption. Each artist in the lab creates a sensory experience of an otherworldly landscape that evolves and changes throughout the duration of the exhibition, inviting viewers to engage with the work by meandering, investigating, and experiencing these staged environments. At Weir Farm, Anneleise will transform recycled 100% sheep wool sweaters to hybrid organisms via the Shibori method of felting materials. Co-sponsored by Weir Farm Art Center and Weir Farm National Historic Site and presented by Wilton Library. No charge. Registration suggested.
