The Teen Summer Reading Program is underway now, and ends on Friday August 15th. Weekly, teens entering grades 6-12 can access EVANCED, the online program to record the number of pages read. There will be a weekly drawing for $10 gift certificates. The end-of-summer grand prize will be a $100 AmEx Gift Card. For more details, stop by Teen Services or call 203-762-3950, ext. 243.

Adult Summer Reading Program – Literary Elements
Monday, July 7 through Sunday, Aug. 17, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Be a part of Wilton Library’s first-ever adult summer reading program. Online registration begins Monday, July 7; the program ends Sunday, August 17. List each book you read this summer (from July 1 – August 17) by writing a brief review, and be automatically entered into a weekly drawing for a Wilton Chamber of Commerce gift certificate. Looking for something good to read next? Bring a friend and join the Book Buzz conversation moderated by a knowledgeable staff member of the Children’s Library. Participants are encouraged to come and chat about their most recent favorite reads or just listen to what others recommend. Pick up new pre-publication books when available. Hear about upcoming books being released and be the first to reserve them at the library. Get the inside scoop on upcoming author visits. Summer dates: July 9, 23 & Aug. 6. Grades 2 and up. Wonderful Wednesdays—Horizon Wings
Wednesday, July 23, 3 – 4 p.m.
Experience the thrill of being up close to a magnificent eagle, hawk, falcon, vulture or owl. In keeping with the weekly theme of Mythology and focusing on the bird-headed Egyptian gods, Horizon Wings of Ashford is bringing a variety of extraordinary birds to Wilton Library. All of the program birds in their care are unable to survive in the wild, but have overcome their individual challenges and have learned to adapt to their new lives as feathered ambassadors. Be inspired by their individual stories of survival, and explore fascinating facts about each species. Registration required, Kindergarten and up, each person must be registered separately. Hour of Code for Teens

Interested in learning programming basics? We’ll get you going using some fun and easy tutorials that might include something such as Angry Birds.For teens entering grades 6-12. Join us for an hour of fun as we peek behind the coding curtain together! We encourage teens with a “How’d they do that?” curiosity. Space limited. Registration required.
