Teen Summer Reading

Friday, June 20 through Friday, August 15th
The Teen Summer Reading Program is underway now, and ends on Friday August 15th.  Weekly, teens entering grades 6-12 can access EVANCED, the online program to record the number of pages read.  There will be a weekly drawing for $10 gift certificates. The end-of-summer grand prize will be a $100 AmEx Gift Card.  For more details, stop by Teen Services or call 203-762-3950, ext. 243.

Adult Summer Reading Program – Literary Elements

Monday, July 7 through Sunday, Aug. 17, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Be a part of Wilton Library’s first-ever adult summer reading program. Online registration begins Monday, July 7; the program ends Sunday, August 17. List each book you read this summer (from July 1 – August 17) by writing a brief review, and be automatically entered into a weekly drawing for a Wilton Chamber of Commerce gift certificate. Wonderful Wednesdays—Hands on Drumming-Creature Teachers

Wednesday, July 30, 3 – 4 p.m.
Hands on Drumming goes on a musical journey, playing traditional songs from Native American Mythology, creating rhythms, taking turns leading and experiencing improvisation, creative movement and dance with the use of puppets and drums. Participants learn about many positive life skills including respect, leadership, teamwork, cooperation, listening and communication as well as musical and cultural awareness. Sponsored by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund. For grades K and up. Registration required, each child and caregiver must be registered separately. Under 8, caregiver must stay with child.

What’s Under the Hood for Teens

Wednesday, July 30, 4 – 5 p.m.
Are you new to driving or getting your license soon?  If so, you should know some car basics. Learn how to change a tire, check your oil and other ‘must knows.’  Mike Lindquist of Wilton Tire & Auto Center will share his expertise.  For any teen driver or soon-to-be drivers.  Registration required.  Sponsored by the John and Patricia Curran Teen Fund.
