The Teen Summer Reading Program is underway now, and ends on Friday August 15th. Weekly, teens entering grades 6-12 can access EVANCED, the online program to record the number of pages read. There will be a weekly drawing for $10 gift certificates. The end-of-summer grand prize will be a $100 AmEx Gift Card. For more details, stop by Teen Services or call 203-762-3950, ext. 243.

Adult Summer Reading Program – Literary Elements
Monday, July 7 through Sunday, Aug. 17, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Be a part of Wilton Library’s first-ever adult summer reading program. Online registration begins Monday, July 7; the program ends Sunday, August 17. List each book you read this summer (from July 1 – August 17) by writing a brief review, and be automatically entered into a weekly drawing for a Wilton Chamber of Commerce gift certificate. Wonderful Wednesdays—Science Tellers – Dragons and Dreams
Wednesday, Aug. 13, 3 – 4 p.m.
With castles, kings, a dragon keeper, an Ice Sorceress, the Horn of Fire, two villagers, and a daring journey to save the entire kingdom, enjoy this spectacular adventure as we’re swept away to a world where dragons are real, dreams come true, and only the most daring of people will survive to tell the tale. Join us as we learn about the science of Fire & Ice by telling a tale of Dragons & Dreams using experiments of flash paper, exploding bottles, ‘cool’ dry ice, and much more. This program ties in with our week of Arthurian and Celtic Mythology. Grades K and up. Registration required, each child and caregiver must be registered separately. Author Talk: Wally Lamb—We Are Water

Wally Lamb visits Wilton Library to discuss his book, We Are Water, a layered portrait of marriage, family, and the inexorable need for understanding and connection. It is also a portrait of modern America, exploring issues of class, changing social mores, the legacy of racial violence, and the nature of creativity and art. With humor and compassion, Wally Lamb brilliantly captures the essence of human experience and the ways in which we search for love and meaning in our lives. Wally Lamb is the author of four New York Times best-selling novels: Wishin’ and Hopin’, The Hour I First Believed, I Know This Much is True, and She’s Come Undone and was twice selected for Oprah’s Book Club.
