The International Consumer Electronics Show (how I wish I were there!) in Las Vegas has over 2700 exhibitors and we are seeing clips everywhere of technology to come. In today’s New York Times, the article “Despite Risks, Internet Creeps Onto Car Dashboards,” talks about how automakers are looking to the car as the next frontier for Internet access. If the driving public can learn to use technology devices prudently (when the car is stopped, not while driving), this can be a wonderful thing. Imagine your car breaking down and instead of calling AAA or a friend for help, having your mechanic log into your car’s system and being able to either diagnose or fix the problem! Imagine being able to find hotels, restaurants, and attractions while on a long trip. The possibilities are endless. But, always remember, safety first!
