Every day, I try to read The New York Times on my iPod Touch via its app. I also scan my Twitter account for news, following both local and national news organizations. People ask me why I think Twitter is important for news and why I prefer electronic news to the paper variety. Of course, ease of use is one of the most important reasons, along with speed of reporting; but checking various sources helps to give a balanced view of the news. More importantly, news that is not reported by one organization is usually reported by another. For example, a local story that has been reported by local and national news organizations and on the website of The New York Times does not seem to have been included in The New York Times iPod app. Interesting.
