The Associated Press reports that back on October 16, NASA invited its Twitter followers to vie for 100 slots to see (and tweet) today’s space shuttle launch up close. Those slots filled up in less than 20 minutes! On Twitter, I’m following NASA; Dr. Robert Satcher, Jr. (zeroG_MD), the first orthopedic surgeon in space; Michael Massimino (astro_mike), the first Twittering astronaut); Steve Wake (stevewake), a computer programmer from Denver who won one of the 100 spots; and Laura Burns (moonrangerlaura), who also won one of the coveted spots. My list is @mamfranco/spacewla. Also check #nasatweetup on Twitter. A safe and productive journey to the crew!
