Need a playlist that echoes your mood, and you don’t have time to make one? Stereomood has a list of moods to choose from with an accompanying playlist, like “busy as a bee” and “heartbroken”…you may want to stay away from that one. And if you want non-mood music Everyone’s Mixtape has “Summer BBQ” and “driving” to choose from. So unplug your iPod and pick a mood – “nocturne” perhaps?

Well since you don’t live under a rock, we know you are aware of everyone’s old reliable Pandora. But now there are more services than ever to help you get your music fix through your computer. And if you don’t know where to go, lifehacker has summed up the pros and cons of their top 5 picks in this concise article, so it will be easy to choose the best for you without having to try each one. They also set up a poll where users vote for their favorite…as of today it was spotify which just this week became available in the US. Well of course you know about Pandora and other streaming music sites, but Stereo Mood takes it one step further by creating playlists for you based on your current mood or music preference. Moods to choose from include: funny, happy, feel like I want to cry (hey it happens to all of us), relax, untroubled….or you can choose music genres like electronic or acoustic. So even though your current mood may not be so great there is still a list of great songs waiting to be played for you!

Just hit the list of winners then come to the library so you can re-create the experience with CDs from the teen music collection! Raising Sand, In Rainbows, Viva la Vida, all contenders for album of the year, can be found in the teen music section. But if you are more in the mood for dance you can find Madonna (Hard Candy) or Rihanna (Disturbia) we have that too. So get out your hairbrush to practice your singing, it could be you next year on the Grammys!
