Everyone loves Photoshop, but it can be dangerous in the wrong hands. There are lots of “fail collections” with hilarious photoshop disasters that should have never made it from the computer drive to a magazine. The photoshop disaster blog is always a good place to start, and of course there are many other collections out there. With all of the tutorials on how NOT to make these mistakes, like the case of the baby to the left giving your subject an extra finger or two. It is a wonder how these even happen! But hey that’s okay – he will have no problem counting to seven…

Well there are others like you out there. Besides reading some of the new titles in teens, you can join CoCoRaHS. CoCoRaHS is an acronym for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network. CoCoRaHS is a unique, non-profit, community-based network of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds working together to measure and map precipitation (rain, hail, and snow). All you have to do is get a nifty rain gague to measure the precipitation in your area. Then email the results to be tabulated with other members. The results are used to predict and track weather, and are even reported to NOAA. So join the other weather lovers like you to make a difference in tracking the weather!

Always forgetting your computer files?

This headline should read “who ISN’T forgetting their files” because THAT would be news. From leaving your thumb drive at home to forgetting to email yourself files we all (unfortunately) do it. But now the site 4 shared will store (for FREE!) up to 10 GB of your data, including: music files, documents, and films. Best part is that you can share files with others by giving them permission on your account. So now the only thing you need to remember is your iPod to load your new music into!

The Huffington Post has kindly done the research for you on finding apps for your phone and compiled a list of the 5 best. Now you can carry that book with you even though your Kindle is at home. Interestingly enough they also polled their readers to ask, “What literary character would you most like to have over for Thanksgiving dinner?”. Their results? You will have to read for yourself to see who the majority would like to share their turkey with!

It is getting a little down to the wire, but of course there is still time to be creative. Some ideas for you: at Elle girl the editors have noted some top accessories that your BBF will love. And if you are a boy, maybe the website findgift.com would be better. Unless you like rhinestones. Amazon of course has a great gift finder with ideas that you have never even thought of…like pop tarts you can send to that hungry friend of yours. So get cracking before all the good gifts are gone! Or, eaten.

For example, the trampoline – inventor George Nissen was only 16 when he came up with the idea! Did that above sentence make you cringe? Then you will love the book I judge you when you use bad grammar by Sharon Nichols. This book is a collection of photos of signs flaunting the users’ ignorance of the correct use of grammar, compiled from her facebook page with the same name. Or you can check out Steve Dinn’s flickr page with his own collection, and another larger one here. After vieweing these you will never make a sign without using spellcheck…

Not to say that you would like to play one on someone, but just in case we have complied a few websites for you to use as you see fit. How about forwarding this site so your friends can see their drivers license photo. Or warn them about the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide. Or you could send an outraged email to your victim about animal abuse and attach the Bonsai kitten website link. Where, alledgedly, people can buy kits to stuff a small kitten into to have it grow into a small square shaped cat. There are even more to choose from at this hoax website list, so pick a few victims and sit back and have fun. Happy pranking!

New Moon Mania!

This weekend was the opening of New Moon, and as you can see by the fans in this CBS news story, it was a little crazy. But those fans helped make New Moon’s opening night the largest grossing ever - taking in 78 million dollars on Friday, beating out Dark Knight. And the ticket buying didn’t stop, causing New Moon to gross over 140 million dollars on the first weekend! Reviews from the fans (we ignore everyone else) are an enthusiastic thumbs up. So now the world will know what the fans already do, that a bat is no match for a vampire.

Well if you have a favorite there is a good chance there is an on-line version. Go to World Newspapers to get links to all of your favorites like Seventeen, Teen Vogue and NYT Upfront. Or check out some you don’t know about, like Faze from Canada, and , or LA Youth which is an LA newspaper written by teens who live there. Now you don’t have to wait for issues to come in the mail to read your favorite magazines!
