Lecture Series with David Dunlop: “Art and Sex”

In this lecture, David Dunlop explores sex as motivation, motif and the unconscious and overt determinant of the appearance and process of art. How are sexual mores, tastes, and roles determined by art? How is our sexual biology a determinant in the substance and appearance of art? This exploration reaches back to our first historical representation on stone to artists' work today.

David Dunlop has given art history lectures at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and his 13-week PBS series which began airing in March 2008, "Landscapes through Time" won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Class in writing. A teacher at Silvermine Arts Center since 1993 and a Guild Artist member, David's work is nationally known and featured in many prominent collections throughout the U.S. and abroad. Dunlop's lecture series, always stimulating and fun, sell out quickly often with standing room only available.
