Saturday, March 2nd and Sunday, March 10th from 12-1pm Come experience a New England tradition: turning sap into syrup! The history and process of making syrup is fascinating. Kids and families will have an opportunity to tap a tree, take the maple syrup taste test, learn about Native American, colonial, and modern ways to make syrup and of course taste Ambler Farm's very own maple syrup over vanilla ice cream. Bottles of our very own maple syrup will be available for sale. This event is free and open to the public.

Sunday, March 10 WHS/WLA Matthew Warshauer: Andrew Jackson—Hero or Despot at Wilton Historical Society, 4 – 5:30 p.m. Professor Matthew Warshauer returns to the area to shed some light on the 7th President of the United States Andrew Jackson. Was he a masterful politician who ushered in a new era of democratic politics or a loose cannon with no vision for the American republic. In his latest book, Andrew Jackson in Context, Prof. Warshauer examines differing perspectives on the subject. Warshauer has been a popular guest speaker in two previous Wilton Historical Society/Wilton Library scholarly lecture series. He is a Professor of History at Central Connecticut State University and author of Andrew Jackson and the Politics of Martial Law. See Wilton Library's website for speaker details. Monday, March 11 Area Author Affair: Todd Wood – Currency, 6 – 7 p.m. Connecticut author Todd Wood weaves a compelling tale of the America's founding fathers who built the country's early economic structure with a modern-day hero, Connor Murray. Connor is thrust into a world shaped as much by greed, betrayal and violence as it is by heroism, loyalty, love and the quest for personal peace. Wood is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, flew as a helicopter pilot in Desert Storm and has been an international bond trader. No charge. Books will be available for purchase and signing. New Perspectives Film Series: Trial by Fire: Lives Re-Forged

Saturday, March 16 New Perspectives Film Series: Trial by Fire: Lives Re-Forged with Director/producer Megan Smith-Harris, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. Trial By Fire: Lives Re-Forged chronicles the inspirational and surprising journeys of seven burn survivors before and after the harrowing accidents that forever changed their lives. When you forge metal with fire it becomes stronger – it turns out the same is true of people. Join director Megan Smith-Harris and special guests Emmy award-winning Executive Producer, Bill Harris and Emmy Award-winning editor, Jeff Reilly for a spirited Q&A following the screening. A reception for the filmmaker and her guests will follow the screening. Suggested donation of $5. Refreshments served.
