For the artist, a gestural or impulsive movement often serves as the beginning of an idea for a painting, with subsequent layers imparting balance, line, color and pattern, creating an alternate reality in the process. Silvermine Guild Arts Center 3:00pm - 5:00pm Book Signing and Reception with Silvermine Faculty and Guild Artist Member Robert Dancik Celebrate the publication of "Amulets and Talismans" by Faculty and Guild Artist member Robert Dancik. An artist/teacher for more than 30 years, Dancik holds a Masters degree in sculpture from Northern Illinois University and a BA in fine art from Adelphi University. He has taught people from kindergarten to graduate school, while exhibiting his jewelry and sculpture in museums and galleries across the U.S. and abroad. An exhibition of his artwork will be on display in the Anne Connell Student Gallery. A portion of the book sales will be donated to the Silvermine Scholarship Fund.
