Flu shots are available to anyone age four years and older; children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No appointment needed, first-come, first-served, no waiting. Cost of the flu shot is $50 payable by cash or check or it can be billed directly to Aetna, Anthem, Connecticare, Harvard Pilgrim, Multi Plan, Wellcare or Medicare Part B. Bring your insurance card with you.   HIGH DOSE vaccine ($68) is available to persons age 65 or older who would like it instead of the regular dose vaccine. Join the library for 2 and 3-year-old story time. Children and their caregivers will sing songs, listen to stories, and enjoy playtime together while building literacy and social skills. No registration, no fee.

We're looking for students in grades 6-8 who would like to join RAKtivists -- a world-wide movement which practices Random Acts of Kindness. On the first or second Tuesday of every month we'll do something nice and think of ways to spread kindness and put smiles on people’s faces. We'll bake cookies for a senior living community, make dog and cat toys for animal shelters, decorate gingerbread houses for local agencies, read to the elderly and more.

Children in grades K-2 are invited to join us weekly for a story and various STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities. This fun and hands-on program will include a read-aloud of a popular children's picture book along with a correlating STEM craft and activity and a whole group science demonstration. For retirees and soon-to-be-retirees, this program showcases various options for enhancing the quality of life in retirement.  Retirement experts Michael Amoroso and Ingrid Gillespie will showcase new things to consider as retirement brings about enormous change, from emotional rewards to the potential of emotional dangers such as boredom, depression and addiction.  Learn what to expect in transitioning to retirement and how to successfully navigate this life change. Speakers Ingrid Gillespie, BS, MS is the executive director of Communities4Action, a regional action council. She has worked for over 30 years in the human services field. Michael Amoroso, BBA, MBA ran his own marketing research firm. A retiree for 20 years, he currently provides guidance to other retirees. No charge. Registration recommended.
