Meet Gay Talese, bestselling author as he talks about his latest work, The Silent Season of a Hero: The Sports Writing of Gay Talese. The book features more than forty selections of Talese’s sports pieces and his recollections of reporting on athletics and events from the ‘40s through his New York Times reporting in which he met major athletes whom he befriended, such as Joe Louis, Joe DiMaggio, Floyd Patterson and Muhammad Ali.
