Assistant Children's Librarian Wilton Library is seeking an energetic, creative individual to assist with collection management, perform reference services, create and participate in programs and story times for birth - age 12, and perform other duties as assigned under the direction of the Children's Library Manager.
A successful candidate must have general knowledge of classic and contemporary children's literature. Candidates must also have knowledge of child development and be able to plan and implement programs in the STEM and technology fields. Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Publisher and social media expertise are required. Attention to detail and the ability to work well independently and cooperatively with other team members in a creative and vibrant environment is crucial.
Requirements: Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library school. A minimum of one year working with children in a professional setting. Able to work a flexible schedule that includes day, night, and weekend hours. Excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
Details: Full-time (35 hours per week) includes evening and weekend shifts. Salary is commensurate with experience and meets CLA salary guidelines. Excellent benefits package. Applications can be obtained at the library or online. Position will remain open until filled.

Wilton Library seeks energetic, reliable and detail-oriented individuals for the positions of Building Operations Team Member to assist with maintenance of the Library facility to provide a clean, orderly environment that is in fully functional condition for its patrons, staff, and volunteers.
Team members should have a working knowledge of building plans, building cleaning protocols and maintenance work. Able to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagrammatic forms.
Opens and secures the building in the morning and evening as necessary. Assists with maintenance of inventory of cleaning supplies, materials and equipment. Sets up tables and chairs for meetings, programs, and/or rentals throughout the building. Fully cleans public restrooms, staff restrooms and kitchens daily as well as replenishing supplies. Wash windows and floors; clean tables and chairs, vacuums and dusts in public and non-public spaces. Empties trash and recycling. Assists with snow removal and walkway sanding/salting as needed. Perform limited landscaping duties (e.g., weeding and cleanup). Painting as assigned. Transport book sale donations to book cellar sorting area.
Other duties as requested under the direction of the Building Operations Manager.
Demonstrates skills to use voicemail and computer for email and calendar software. Microsoft Word and Excel a plus.
Schedule: Part-time hourly position (average of up to 19 hours per week). Candidates must be flexible and able to cover evening and weekend events.

Wilton Library is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented individual to begin year-round part-time employment in October 2018. This position is for 3 weekday shifts (2-3 hours per shift) and 1 Saturday afternoon shift (4 hours) every 4 weeks on rotation, averaging 6-12 hours per week.
The Shelver position entails a focus on attention to detail. Shelvers return items to the shelves in the adult, teen, and children’s collections. In addition, Shelvers check in and cart the returned items from the afternoon book bin. Candidates must have the ability to alphabetize and arrange items in numerical order according to the Dewey Decimal system. In addition, candidates should possess proficient computer skills (Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2007), a willingness to learn, and the ability to work independently. This position involves bending, lifting, and standing for long periods of time, and pushing and pulling fully stocked carts weighing approximately 100-150 pounds, so candidates should have the physical stamina and agility necessary to perform the functions of the job. Prior shelving experience a plus.
